FOREVER ONWARD
Logo Design.
About this project
psyborg® worked with Nords Wharf Public School to modernise their logo design, updating an original and outdated mark to better represent their Lake Macquarie community and educational mission.
Public school branding carries unique challenges. The logo needs to represent the institution, resonate with students and families, and work across diverse applications—from letterheads and signage to digital platforms and sports uniforms. It must balance professionalism with approachability, authority with warmth.
The existing logo had served the school well but had become dated. Visual language evolves, and what worked decades ago can look tired and disconnected from contemporary educational environments. The challenge was modernising the mark while respecting the school’s heritage and maintaining visual continuity that existing families would recognise.
For Nords Wharf Public School, the redesign centres on the tagline “FOREVER ONWARD”—a powerful statement about educational progression, student growth and the forward momentum of learning. The phrase embodies both the school’s commitment to student development and the journey each child takes through their education.
The modernised logo design balances traditional educational values with contemporary visual language. It retains the equity built in the original while bringing clarity, versatility and professionalism expected of today’s educational institutions. The mark works equally well on official documentation as it does on classroom walls or school newsletters.
Located in the Lake Macquarie region, the school serves a close-knit community. The updated branding reflects this local connection while maintaining the broader credibility expected of a NSW public school.
Public school rebrands require careful stakeholder management—engaging staff, parents and the wider school community throughout the process. The final design represents not just the school’s present but its future trajectory.
