About this project
Coastal Music Fest is a youth-led music festival built to showcase emerging artists across the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle region.
psyborg® partnered on the launch to translate that vision into a cohesive visual identity and campaign system. The objective was clear … create something that felt coastal, raw, and real, while giving a first-time organiser the tools to execute with confidence.
We developed a unified design language across posters, social media, merchandise, and event collateral. The direction balanced texture, typography, and colour to reflect the energy of live music by the ocean. Every asset was built to scale … from print-ready posters and banners to a structured social rollout designed to build momentum daily.
Beyond design, the project became about enablement. Delivering not just files, but clarity. Clear naming, clear formats, clear guidance … so a 17-year-old organiser could run a professional campaign.
With the foundation now established, the next phase is evolution. Each year becomes an opportunity to introduce a new theme … refreshing the visual direction while retaining a recognisable core. Think seasonal shifts in colour, typography variations, and campaign-led storytelling that keeps the festival feeling new without losing its identity.
The system is designed to flex. Annual posters, limited-run merchandise, and social campaigns can all pivot around a central idea … giving people a reason to come back, collect, and be part of something growing.
