My Newy Tech People Interview

My Newy Tech People Interview

My Newy Tech People Interview

Yesterday I had the privilege of being interviewed by James MacDonald from @newytechpeople, where we had a meaningful discussion about the Newcastle tech industry.

The interview allowed me to reflect on my own journey and share my experiences, whilst also gaining valuable perspectives on the ever-evolving tech landscape and its potential development.

NewyTechPeople is a popular Newcastle tech podcast that delves into the experiences of local tech gaining insights into the constantly evolving tech scene, how it has changed and where it could be headed.

These conversations matter beyond individual profile building. Regional tech ecosystems depend on documented experience sharing. Podcast interviews create knowledge transfer impossible through networking alone. Hearing founder journeys—failures alongside successes—normalises entrepreneurial risk encouraging others to launch ventures strengthening local economic diversity.

Design sits at tech industry intersection. Not pure software development yet technology-dependent. Discussion explored how creative services evolved from print-focused agencies toward digital-first studios requiring technical capability matching aesthetic judgment. This hybrid positioning defines modern design practice.
