AI Unleashed the ’70s, and It Got Wild!

AI Unleashed the ’70s, and It Got Wild!

AI Unleashed the ’70s, and It Got Wild!

So I ran this old Super 8 reel that I found through AI and this is what came out.

Shit got wild in the ’70s!

This is the playful side of AI. Not productivity. Not efficiency. Just curiosity.

AI is radically disrupting the video production landscape in ways most people haven’t grasped yet. What once required expensive equipment, specialist software and technical expertise now happens through accessible tools anyone can use.

Traditional video production has clear cost barriers. Professional cameras, editing suites, colour grading software, motion graphics tools—the infrastructure required to produce high-quality video content has historically limited who could participate. AI removes these barriers completely.

Frame interpolation that previously required expensive optical flow plugins now happens automatically. Colour grading that demanded years of experience learning DaVinci Resolve now works through natural language prompts. Rotoscoping that consumed hours of manual masking now completes in seconds. The technical execution barrier has collapsed.

This fundamentally changes the video production business model. When technical execution becomes commoditised, value shifts to creative judgment, storytelling capability and strategic vision. The question isn’t whether you can produce technically competent video—everyone can now. The question is whether you know what story to tell and how to tell it effectively.

For established production houses, this presents both threat and opportunity. Threat: technical execution alone no longer commands premium pricing. Opportunity: AI handles the mechanical work, freeing time for creative direction and strategic thinking that clients actually value.

The old Super 8 footage experiment demonstrates this perfectly. The tool handles technical restoration. You handle creative direction—what footage to process, how to frame it, what story it tells.

Have a great loooong weekend everyone.
