Caves Beach Sunset Market
I recently caught up with Laura Sikais, founder of the Caves Beach Sunset Market.
We chatted about the amazing success of her two previous events in Caves drawing crowds of hundreds to our little beach side village.
After two amazing events Laura will be hosting the next event on April 14th!
Community activation projects reveal entrepreneurial capability often invisible in corporate roles. Laura identified opportunity—under-utilised beachside location, local business demand, community appetite for gathering spaces. Then executed—permits, vendor coordination, promotion, logistics. Hundreds attending demonstrates validation.
Small coastal villages face particular economic challenges. Seasonal tourism fluctuation. Limited retail infrastructure. Resident dispersal. Markets create concentration—vendors, customers, foot traffic—generating economic activity whilst building social capital. Successful community events compound through repeat attendance and word-of-mouth expansion.
Community activation. Entrepreneurial execution. Local economic vitality.
